Ode to Solitude

Sweet solitude thou art a joy to me.
I find no sadness in thy lonely hour,
O loneliness thy wine I will devour
And dwell with you forever thoughtlessly.
Without the sorrows of melancholy,
No aching heart that touch'd thy golden shower
Has ever failed to love again and flower.
O solitude, sweet solitude divine,
What happiness and splendor do you bring!
Of thy delight no mortal tongue can sing,
And thus none of these accents can define
For nothing is as sweet and ravishing
Than this eternal solitude of mine.
